Wikipedia 25th Anniversary
Creative directing Wikipedia’s first ever global campaign with an anthem film and documentary series, we were inspired by how Wikipedia’s philosophy (crowd-sourced, collaborative, and self-correcting) shapes its user experience.
To express that authenticity, we established a creative rulebook: only Wikipedia’s desktop and mobile UI could serve as our motion language, and Creative Commons imagery as our visual palette. We also wanted to capture the playful spirit of the platform, where editors and visitors interact through information like players in a multiplayer game. To that end, we packed the piece with pop culture nods and inside jokes for the most devoted editors using over 600 images and videos exclusively from Wikicommons.

Documentary Series
Following 9 editors from around the world— including Wikipedia’s first ever editor, founder Jimmy Wales—we crafted a collage of visuals that illustrate each editor’s distinct subjects and backgrounds.
Blending video calls, self-shot footage from phones and video glasses, and found assets from Wikimedia Commons, each film captures the peculiar characters that make Wikipedia special.
